Torrevieja fiestas

Torrevieja is a town where there is something to do all year round. The Habaneras festival is world famous. But there is more, concerts all year, Semana Santa processions, Carnaval, the May Fair, El Rocio and so on.
Apart from everything going on in Torrevieja there is a great deal in the area that is worth a visit.
For the oyung ones there are the various themes parks such as Terra Mítica, Terra Natura and the dolphin shows.

More traditionally, almost all towns in the region celebrate the famous Mores and Christians festival at some time during the year. This festival remembers in a really friendly way the Reconquista (the wars between Christians and Muslims in the Middle ages) and the feats of El Cid Campeador. The four-day parades are a must-see!

Easter week is a very solemn occasion in Torrevieja, where the Paso de los Ingleses is a noteworthy addition. This saint´s image carried by non-Spanish citizens is an example for all of the way foreigners integrate in the Spanish way of life.

More relaxed is the May Fair, with its horses, riders in traditional dress, carriages and, of course, lots and lots of tapas and Fino wine.
